The Great Rite Invocation

Assist me to erect the ancient altar,
At which in days past all worshipped;
The great altar of all things.
For in times of old, woman was the altar.
Thus was the altar made and place,
And the sacred place was the point
Within the center of the circle.
As we have of old been taught that the point within the
Center is the origin of all things.
Therefore should we adore it;
Therefore whom we adore we also invoke.
O Circle of Stars,
Where of our Father is but the younger brother,
Marvel beyond imagination, soul of infinite space,
Before whom time is ashamed,
The mind bewildered, and the understanding dark,
Not unto thee may we attain unless thine image be love.
Therefore by seed and root and stem and bud,
And leaf and flower and fruit do we invoke thee.
O Queen of Space, O Jewel of Light,
Continuous One of the heavens;
Let it be ever thus
That men speak not of thee as One, bus as None;
And let them not speak of thee at all,
Since thou art continuous.
For thou art the point within the Circle, which we adore;
The point of life, without which we would not be.
And in this way truly are erected the holy twin pillars,
In beauty and in strength were they erected
To the wonder and glory of all men.

Altar of mysteries manifold,
The sacred circle’s secret point
Thus do I sign thee as of old
With kisses of my lips anoint.

Open for me the secret way,
The pathway of intelligence,
Beyond the gates of night and day.
Beyond the bounds of time and sense,
Behold the mystery aright,
The five true points of fellowship,
Here where the Lance and Grail unite
And feet and knees and breast and lip.

Hermes Trismegistus

Was he one or many, merging
Name and fame in one,
Like a stream, to which, converging,
Many streamlets run?

Who shall call his dreams fallacious?
Who has searched or sought
All the unexplored and spacious
Universe of thought?

Who in his own skill confiding,
Shall with rule and line
Mark the border-land dividing
Human and divine?

Trismegistus! Three times greatest!
How thy name sublime
Has descended to this latest
Progeny of time!

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 1882

The Perfect Circle

When you stand alone
You may imagine that you are whole and uninhibited
Uninhibited by actions that within
the perfect circle may make you
feel like you will fall
Though truly it is within the perfect circle
where you can really stand pround with
one and all

For within the perfect circle we are
linked from hand to hand
Linked from hand to hand within the perfect circle
that encompasses all
The perfect circle where all are linked
and no one can fall
Within the perfect circle that holds and carries all

Carries all hand to hand, linked with one and all
One and all that completes the perfect circle divine
The perfect circle divine that begins and ends with
your hand linked to mine

Thoughts of nature fill me with aspirations
Experiences of a new dawn
A blessing bestowed upon me
A wonderful creation
A spirit of freedom
Peaceful surroundings
Sky, sea and earth
Clouds, stars, moon
To love

Love Is...Love Just Is...

Love is the birth of a new life
*creation evermore*
- so precious, so loving
Love is the flowers that bloom in spring
- so colorful, so beautiful
Love is as open as the blue sky above us
- so wide, so vast
Love is like the branches of a tree
- always reaching, reaching always

Love is in the living of life
*living evermore*
- so joyful, so playful
Love is the hand that reaches out to you when you need it the most - pull me up, lift me up
Love is the eyes that see beyond the flesh
- beautiful soul, wondrous spirit
Love is the hug that warms your soul
- so loved, loved so

Love is in the real, not in the abstract
*loving evermore*
- so solid, so full
Love is a seeker and a finder
- seek me, find me
Love is a giver, not a taker
- so generous, so generous
Love is the favor that you did not ask for
- so nice, so appreciated

Love is freeing, not caging
*being evermore*
- fly free, fly free, fly free
Love is the feeling that sets our souls at peace
- so warm, so loving
Love is the dance that frees us
- to become you, to become me
Love is us in our most natural state of being
- so free, so free

Love does not ask, love just does
For love is all around us us
...above us
...below us
Because love is the answer, not the question

Love just is...
Love is all we know...
Love is all we are...
Love just is...

Love is in the dying and setting our soul free
*dying evermore*
- return, return, return home

Love just is...
