This is the tutorial that I wrote as my final assignment for
the third step in my Stepping Stones in PSP course.
I used PSP 9
to create this image along with the following plugins:
Filters Unlimited 2.0 (Optional)
Graphics Plus
Xero
You will also need these two images
The artwork is by Alan Ayers, one of my favorite
artists who graciously allows folks to use his work in their non-profit creations.
Once unzipped, open the images in your work space and
click on the _ in the top right
corner of the carraige to reduce it.
Now, let's begin, shall we :)?
Press "Shift+D" to duplicate the Bow image and close the original.
Right click on the layer in the layer palette and "Promote background to layer."
Equip your Selection Tool
, set it to
Rectangle, Replace, Feather=35, Anti-alias unticked, as shown:
Place the cross-hairs of your cursor at 45,45, left click and drag your rectangle to 445,675.
The coordinates can be found in the lower right-hand corner of your work space, directly beneath
your layer palette
Click on "Selection," "Invert," and then hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard once.
Your image should now look like this:
Restore the Carriage image, "Shift+D" to duplicate it, close the original,
right click on the layer in the layer palette and "Promote background to layer."
Equip your Crop Tool
Draw a rectangle around the carraige, eliminating as much of the green area as you can,
use the nodes to resize the rectangle, like so:
