This is the tutorial that I wrote as my final assignment for
my advanced PSP course with Heaven's Angels.

I used PSP 9 and Animation Shop 3 to create this image.
You will also need:
The font, the tubes, the mask and the gradient.
Once unzipped, you can either open all of these items in your work area,
or copy the gradient and mask to their appropriate folders, it's up to you.
Instructions for using them in both ways will be included in this tutorial.
The font file can also be used in one of two ways: you can either open it on
your desktop or install it into your Windows Fonts folder. Either way, it will
appear as an option in PSP's text drop-down menu for you to use.

Now, on with the fun stuff :)...

Open a new image of the size 500 x 400.
Click on "Selections," "Select all."
Copy the moonscape image and paste into the selection.
(Right clicking on the top of the appropriate image's frame to access these commands.)
Duplicate the layer:
Either click on "Layers," then "Duplicate," or right click on the
layer in your layer palette and then click on "Duplicate."
Then X out the duplicate copy, in your layer palette, for now, so that you can see layer 1
and activate layer 1 as well (click on it):

Apply mask to layer one in one of two ways:
1. Either by having the mask saved to a folder and click on "Layers,"
"Load/Save Mask," "Load Mask From Disc" and selecting it from the image
menu on the left, before clicking "Load,"

or

2. by having the mask opened
in your work area and clicking on "Layers," "New Mask Layer," "From
Image..." and then selecting it from the drop down menu there.

Right click on the "Group-Merged" layer on your layer palette, then move
your cursor over the word "Merge" and then click on "Merge Group."
Duplicate twice for a total of three layers and click on the word "Normal" in
your layer palette to access the blend modes (see screen shot below):
Set the blend mode on the bottom layer to Dissolve.
Set the blend mode on the second layer to Overlay.
Set the blend mode on the third layer to Exclusion.
Merge visible:
Right click on any visible layer, move your cursor over "Merge,"
and then click on "Merge Visible."
Your image should now look like this:
